THE ECLECTIC PAGAN

Many paths. Many stories. One strange little workshop.

I'm an independent artist and maker based in Hazel Grove, Stockport.

I've always been fascinated by the things that sit just beyond the ordinary, folklore, mythology, witchcraft, ghosts, the Fáe, old stories, strange places and the natural world.

I'm an eclectic pagan, which means I don't follow one single prescribed pagan path. I take inspiration from different traditions and sources, researching, learning and forming my own understanding along the way.

That eclectic approach naturally found its way into my artwork.

I work mainly with clay and eco-resin, alongside other mixed-media techniques. Sometimes I'm creating an altar piece inspired by a particular symbol or tradition.

Sometimes I'm making a little Fáe door for a creature that exists only in my imagination.

And sometimes I find myself wondering what kind of ghost might live around the corner from where I live.

Those are the pieces that became the Stockport Ghosts.

WHY “THE ECLECTIC PAGAN”?

Because one path has never quite been enough to contain all the things that fascinate me.

My work isn't intended to tell anyone how they should practise their faith or spirituality.

It's my interpretation.

My curiosity.

My creativity.

My way of bringing together old stories, modern alternative culture and the things that make me stop and think:

“I really want to make that.”

MADE IN STOCKPORT

Stockport is more than just where my workbench happens to be.

Its buildings, history, parks, mills, streets and strange little corners have all found their way into my imagination, most obviously through the Stockport Ghosts.

I love the idea that handmade art can carry a sense of place.

So while the Fáe may come from somewhere beyond the veil, and the ghosts may be imaginary, there's a little bit of Stockport in the world I create.
